| Dimet has been fighting corrosion in Thailand for over 20 years with Ameron U.S.A. over 80 years of valuable experiences. Industry hasn't always had high performance corrosion control products. In fact, there was a time-not too long ago-when the only means of controlling corrosion was to paint…and paint…and repaint, year in and year out. In most cases, that's all there was to delay the ravages of corrosion. A fresh coat of paint was put right on top of what remained of the old paint. Right over the blistering, peeling paint and the dirt and the rust. It covered up the corrosion but it didn't stop it. Given enough time, and industrial plant or ship or coastal area steel structure would deteriorate to a useless pile of red rust. This primitive process of "corrosion control" may have been good enough for yesterday, but today's industries demand innovative methods to combat the loss of billions of dollars of capital investment. To meet the demand, Dimet began, in 1982 to introduce the first inorganic zinc silicate coating to protect steel structure on long term basis in Thailand. It is proud to say that the founder of Dimet Australia had invented inorganic zinc silicate for first time in 1930 and later jointly develop the inorganic zinc silicate group with Ameron U.S.A. since then. During those early years; Dimet have supplied various coatings which are still protecting steel and concrete structures all over Thailand. In fact, many of the original applications of these products are still intact, providing evidence of performance over several decades. Needless to say, with more than 80 years experiences, Ameron coatings have protected many landmark structures from corrosion all over the globe. |
